Grant projects in government institutions need to be managed properly according to existing regulation and used in full support for the intended development. Therefor, the entire project team and working unit involved need to get adequate debriefed on various provisions related with grant management in order to implement activities properly and accurately.

Thus the Enhancing the Protected Area System in Sulawesi for Biodiversity Conservation (E-PASS) project held Grant Management Technical Training at Salak Heritage Hotel Bogor, 2-4 May 2016. Participants consisted of reprsentatives from working unit within the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation (KSDAE) such as Directorate of Biodiversity Conservation, Directorate of Conservation Area, and Directorate of Natural Resources Design and Information; E-PASS’ Project Management Unit and Field Coordination Unit; and Technical Management Unit from the three project sites. Presentations made during the training including from the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management Ministry of Finance, Special State Treasury Bureau III, Finance and General Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Budgeting Unit of the KSDAE, UNDP and BAPPENAS.

The activity is a contribution to enhance the capacity of Directorate General of KSDAE in implementing foreign grant. It is expected the increasing capacity will not only affect the implementation of E-PASS project but also for other existing and future grants.
